A True Community Effort
For nearly 40 years, Tempe Community Council (TCC) has expertly administered and managed the distribution of human services funds on behalf of the City of Tempe, along with community donations, through a process known as “Agency Review.”
What makes this process unique – and truly a community effort – is TCC’s involvement of community members who live or work in Tempe. Their participation brings a personal, human touch to Agency Review, making it much more than just a grant process.
For the fiscal year 2024/2025 Agency Review funding process, TCC partnered with 62 volunteers who generously dedicated approximately 1,300 hours over the course of three months. These volunteers carefully reviewed and evaluated human services proposals, interviewed agency representatives, and provided funding recommendations to the Tempe City Council. This process is rigorous, insightful, complex, and deeply rewarding for all who takes part.
You, too, can help care for our community by volunteering to serve on our citizen Agency Review panel. Or, if you represent an eligible human services agency serving Tempe, consider applying for funding in the next annual Agency Review process.
