Tax Site Volunteer Opportunities

Every hour you volunteer brings $500 in Federal refunds back to a low income taxpayer!

In 2023, Tempe’s VITA tax site volunteers gave over 1,200 hours of their time preparing taxes for the low/moderate income individuals/families, seniors and those with disabilities.  Collectively, our treasured volunteers prepared 977 Federal and State tax returns for free – thanks to this important service provided by volunteers, tax credits and refunds were provided to those who need it most.

Be a part of making a difference – consider becoming a volunteer.  Many positions are available.

What dates and times are available to volunteer in 2025?

MONDAYS & SATURDAYS
•  January 27-April 12, 2025, 2:00-6:00pm*

WEDNESDAYS
•  January 29-April 9, 2025, 10:00am to 4:00pm*

The times listed above are the tax site’s published hours for the public.  Volunteer shifts are slightly different.  All volunteers are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their shift.  Some volunteer opportunities are flexible based on drop-off tax services which can be completed outside of remote tax service appointment times.  

Shift hours can be adjusted if needing to arrive later or leave earlier.  Due to some volunteers traveling from their jobs or in class until 5:00 pm, its allowable to arrive as soon as possible thereafter; however, please let the volunteer coordinator/scheduler know in advance if arriving late.
