Tempe Faith & Opportunity
ABOUT
Initiated by Tempe City Councilmembers Joel Navarro, Robin Arredondo-Savage and Randy Keating, the City of Tempe Human Services Department and Tempe Community Council have established new ways for the Tempe faith community and faith leaders to improve communication and create opportunities for collaboration (and solutions) which address critical human service needs.
Since human service needs greatly outweigh available funds, it is increasingly more important that cities partner with faith communities, in both established and innovation ways, to leverage resources and programs that support collective solutions.
Sharing information about what is happening now, what programs already exist, on both the city side and the faith community side, is one simple start.
TEMPE’S FIRST FAITH SUMMIT
The first Faith Opportunity Summit held on …
FAITH DIALOGUE OPPORTUNITY ON FACEBOOK
From this first Summit, it was recommended a private Facebook group be formed for Tempe faith leaders to provide a forum to increase communication between the City of Tempe and Tempe’s faith community.
The hope is that improved communication may also:
- create opportunities for collaboration
- leveraging resources; sharing trends
- needs and barriers to assisting people
- strengthen our ability to support individuals and families in our community
