Funding Human Services for Tempe
FY 2024-2025
     

For Fiscal Year 2024-25, $1.14 million was approved by Tempe’s City Council to distribute funding to  agencies, collectively offering 41 different services and programs to address a variety of needs Tempe residents may by experiencing .  Funding resources for these services are provided mainly from City of Tempe tax dollars dedicated to serve human services needs in Tempe.  Each year, the process known as “Agency Review” is administered and managed  by Tempe Community Council who convenes a broad panel of Tempe community members to review, interview and recommend applicant agencies, services and funding to Tempe’s City Council for approval.  This unique process is citizen-driven and serves as a voice of Tempe residents.    

The programs and services selected support individuals and families to move out of crisis onto stability, and others to self-sufficiency.   The services span several areas of need including:  aging, homelessness, poverty, disabilities, abuse, addiction, youth, hunger security, isolation, mental health, and shelter.
